The Scooter and Ferret team is back from a much-needed weekend in the San Juans. Friday Harbor is a lot more fun when you’re an adult than it is when you’re eight. For those in the Washington area, you might be interested to know that the Orca pods have arrived early this year. We managed to hit the point at just the right time to snap some shots of about twelve whales making the journey across the Sound. We hope you’ll forgive our lateness with today’s post, resulting from catching the 6:55 ferrry.
Tensions are running high as we come to the final leg of getting these first Scooter and Ferret books printed. I’m embarrassed to say how many times I screwed up putting these layouts together… I had to completely redo my work at least three times over. For some reason my brain shuts down when confronted with measurements. We put a version of the book together for Emerald City Con and as it turns out that required an entirely different setup than Comixpress. But the great news is, when everything comes together the book will be available for purchase on their website.
Thanks to everyone who sent very nice sympathy emails since my last update. It was an unexpected highlight of the week. I wasn’t especially looking for support letters when I detailed my last update, but I decided to talk about the car wreck because sometimes, honestly, it’s hard to think up something to write about. Particularly when what is going on in your personal life is so consuming. When that happens, it’s a natural thing to start meadering into personal territory, and I really appreciate the uplifting encouragement. As a follow up, as many people asked, the car is no more. The repair bill was estimated at over 11K for a car worth under 5K! So farewell little white Mitsubishi, I hardly knew you. Fortunately, for those of you who expressed concerns, the bruises are going away and I am quickly improving.
