Friends of the Library

A domain name temporarily needing renewal prevented me from doing an update on Saturday’s Cartoonist Northwest party. It was a particularly great event, tons of people showed up and most of them brought food. All the excitement was due to the prizes being given out in response to the hard work so many of our artist members went through to get their Spawns of Insomnia story completed in 24 hours. Over $1000 was raised by our particpants for Friends of the Library for the purchase of graphic novels and their representative was on hand to accept. There were also prizes given out in various categories. Scott won the Best Concept award for his Communist Pea saga, and I won Best Storytelling for my college story. You can read both comics in their entirety from those links, hosted on the CNW website. You can also read all of the other artists’ stories there and I do recommend checking them out.

Author of Strawberry Shortcake: Return of the Purple Pie Man, Disney’s Frozen Comic Collection, Transformers: Robots in Disguise Animated and Littlest Pet Shop: Open for Business. She’s written for IDW Publishing, Hasbro, Lion Forge, American Greetings and Scholastic, and her work has been discussed in Comics Beat and The Washington Post. Subscribe to the newsletter
