Poor Little BooBoo

Today I have a cute cat story… My cat Puddin has allergies. We’re not sure yet what she’s allergic to, the vet originally thought fleas, but couldn’t find any on her this time. Whatever it is makes her itch and we’ve periodically had to take her to the vet for a shot. Enough times that she recognizes needles by sight and knows to hate them. A trip to the vet yesterday revealed that she was past due on her vaccinations, so by the end of the visit she had had three shots total. Scott called me at work to tell me Puddin was a complete wreck, running around the house crying and looking for me. So he tried to put her on the phone. I found myself at work saying “Kitty, kitty, kitty… BooBoo… Are you ok?” into the receiver in a very quiet office. Of course this did no good at all, I don’t think cats get anything out of voices on the phone. She calmed down and is much better now, she’s in my lap purring as I write this. When I can eventually afford it I hope to get her tested so we can watch out for this problem and avoid all the shots. A friend at work told me her cat had a corn allergy that manifested itself when she used litter made of corn, but I don’t think this is going to be as easy to track down the source of.
