I don’t really know much about RSS feeds. In fact I’m not entirely sure what the result is supposed to be when you have one, which makes building one for the comic especially tricky. I know in concept its a way to syndicate content so people can subscribe to your feed and then see all their content in one place. Personally I’ve never used anything like that. They seem to look a lot like those pages on LiveJournal where everyone’s posts show up at once, at least I think that’s what they are. But everyone has been telling me I need to have RSS so I’m trying to learn. My first attempt was all wrong so I deleted it. My second is not going much better. I downloaded a program that’s says its a step by step wizard, but I’ve never seen anything so confusing. Moments like this remind me that I am a web designer, a litle bit of a marketer, but NOT a developer, and there’s a very big difference. Looking at all of this code makes my head hurt.
This weekend is our big appearance for the year, Sakura Con. No one knows how this will turn out, it’s trying something new. Who knows if squirrels in fezes will even appeal to this audience, but I’m looking forward to finding out. See us there Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Artists Alley.
