This weekend I’m going to be attending the annual Toonie Awards held here in Seattle by Cartoonists Northwest. Every year they sponsor this event which is a dinner and awards ceremony to celebrate the cartooning community here in the Northwest. We have a guest speaker for the event too and this year’s speaker will be Paul Chadwick of “Concrete” fame. Also making its return is the annual clay contest, where the wackiest of clay sculptures win prizes and acclaim. This event is open to the public and I encourage any of my readers to come and have fun. The food’s good and the company is great! After all, we are all cartoonists and gag writers. Should be a hoot! This years event will be at the RockSalt restaurant on Lake Union and begins Saturday at 6:30pm. Cost for dinner and fun is $37.00 at the door. Hope to see some of you there!
