New Contemporary Restaurant

The Contemporary here in Disney World opened a new family dining restaurant recently called The Wave. It calls itself ‘fusion’ and embraces such trends as organic beer, paper straws, multi-grain bread and “sustainable fish.” I’d been wanting to go ever since I saw the bar area, which has an intriguing blue-lit nightclub atmosphere. None of that atmosphere transferred to the dining room, where the feel became more like “late-night Denny’s in the basement,” but I don’t mean to put anyone off because of that. The food was some of the best I’ve had on Disney property in a year. That may be because O’hana’s has been too busy to get into but that’s hardly fair. I recommend the cinnamon pork tenderloin because it came with a side of wilted chard that was even better than the entree.
