A little girl’s mother orders her to clean her room on a Saturday.  Her mother thinks the task won’t take long, but she knows how many of her things she has shoved under her bed.

My daughter is seven, exactly the right age for tearing her room apart then whining when I ask her to fix it. My husband finished a long project last week and cleaned the entire house. He was furious to discover a huge stash of my daughter’s stuff shoveled under our couch. This book couldn’t be more relevant to my life.

It’s also beautifully illustrated. Author Kathy Smith is also the artist. The vivid patterns she uses on blankets, clothing, puzzle pieces, and the tablecloth pop off the page. The adorable toys are the centerpiece;  a pink elephant and a squiggly sheep were standout designs.

This is the perfect book to pop onto your Kindle and read to your stubborn procrastinator. I know I’m going to.
